Welcome to NIS!
So the next generation would know God, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they will put their trust in God and will not forget his deeds but will keep his commands. (Psalm 78:6-7)
The school – originally known as The Norwegian School in Hong Kong – was established by the Norwegian Lutheran Mission and the Norwegian Mission Society as a non-profit school to provide education for the children of Norwegian missionaries. In its early years, Norwegian was the language of instruction, with English lessons conducted by subject teachers.
Generations Christian Education is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Norwegian International School. Generations is a not-for-profit organisation that has over 30 years of experience in education in Hong Kong, beginning in 1986 with Small World Christian Kindergarten and growing to include Norwegian International School, Island Christian Academy (in collaboration with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong), and Small World (Generations) Playgroup. For more information about Generations, including career opportunities at Norwegian International School and how you can support our work, please visit our website.
Norwegian International School’s passionate educators and dedicated support staff are at the heart of our dynamic, supportive learning community. We are committed to lifelong learning and growth, and we are always seeking to improve our practices. NIS is proud to be an International Primary Curriculum Accredited School.
We are located in Hong Kong’s beautiful Tai Po district, where the conveniences of the city and the delights of nature are side by side.
